Omicron S-TiN (Titanium Nitride)
Summary of characteristics:
- Hardness: 2.500 HV
- Application below: 500°C
- Friction coefficient: 0,4
- Thickness: 1-7 micron
The TiN coating is used for machining (carbon, alloy, and stainless steels, cast irons, and aluminum alloys) and protecting dies, moulds, punches, and a range of metal stamping and forming tools.

Omicron TiCN (TitaniumCarbon Nitride)
Summary of characteristics:
- Hardness: 3.000 HV
- Application below: 400°C
- Friction coefficient: 0,3
- Thickness: 1-4 micron
The TiCN thin film coating is harder and has a low coefficient of friction. It is recommended for cutting, punching, and wear applications where moderate temperature will be generated (450°).
Successful applications include end mills, reamers, drills, taps, hobs, and carbide inserts. It performs well cutting alloy steels and stainless steels and is used to protect punches, trim dies and blanking dies.

Omicron AlTiN (AluminiumTitanium Nitride)

- Thickness: 1-4 micron
The properties of the AlTiN coating make it suitable for high temperature cutting operations with minimum use of lubricant or dry machining, HSC and HHC till 50HRC. AlTiN is used successfully to machine titanium, aluminium and nickel alloys, stainless steels, alloy steels, Co-Cr-Mo and cast irons. AlTiN is also used to protect dies and moulds that are required to operate at high temperatures such as those in medium and hot forging and extrusion industries.

Omicron T-CroNAll (Al-Chromium based coating)

- Friction coefficient: 0,60
- Thickness: 1-4 micron
The properties of T-CroNAl are higher heat resistance than AlTiN. It achieves a better adhesion and higher coating thickness and max usage temperature. It make it suitable for HSS and MD end mills, HSS and HM hobs, punchings.

Omicron ZrN (Zirconium Nitride)

- Thickness: 1-4 micron
For instance, zirconium nitride (ZrN) is a hard, yellow-gold colored coating with exceptional wear and corrosion resistance. Especially suitable for non ferrous metals, plastic forming applications.

Omicron CrN (Chromium-Nitride)

- Hardness: 1.800 HV
- Application below: 700°C
- Friction coefficient: 0,30
- Thickness: 1-7 micron
CrN is a tough thin film coating with high hardness, good oxidation resistance, and a low coefficient of friction,making it ideal for metal and plastic forming applications. The CrN coating is particularly suitable for use machining copper based materials.

Suitable for drilling and milling work with steels HRC ≥60.
